Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi is the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense, a position he has held since 2003. With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, he began as an officer in the UAE Armed Forces (1984–1996), followed by his role as Director of the General Directorate of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police (1996–2003). He currently serves on numerous national high-level committees related to security, safety, crisis and disaster management, strategic policies, and police operations. He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE). Al Matrooshi chairs the Security and Safety Committee for the Etihad Rail Project.
